A wedding in Tuscany is a dream for every photographer, so when Renča asked if I would photograph their Slovak–Italian wedding, I didn’t hesitate for a second. She reached out while I was traveling through South America, so we planned my three-day trip to Tuscany from opposite sides of the world — but everything worked out, and at the beginning of July I was boarding a plane in Prague, heading for sun-drenched Italy.
 

The wedding took place at Villa Apparita, and it’s hard to think of a more photogenic place I’ve worked at recently. Just before the guests arrived, the newlyweds got caught in a bit of rain for good luck, but after that, only Tuscan sunshine awaited us — views of the surrounding vineyards, an emotional ceremony, plenty of laughter and tears, and finally a party that lasted until the early morning hours, led by the most original DJ I’ve ever encountered at a wedding.
